Sage

One of The Four Sacred Medicines of the indigenous of North America, the others being, tobacco, sweetgrass and cedar. Sage is used in smudging and the leaves can be pulled off and placed in an abalone shell and burned or burn the end of the sage bundle or stick . Either works but it is energetically more economical to break off a few leaves. Sage is used for purification before teachings and in ceremonies/rituals. It can also be used to clear spaces, homes and sacred items. Sage has a strong medicinal quality and can be used to get rid of negative energy and to clear a troubled mind.
